What is hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy is a treatment technique that helps you utilize the power of your subconscious mind to feel better and make positive changes in your life. While in hypnosis, the patient is given positive (therapeutic) suggestions by the hypnotherapist, and these suggestions are easily incorporated into the subconscious mind in this state. By helping you access your own internal resources, hypnotherapy can help you feel better and effectively promote long-lasting behavior changes.

Is hypnotherapy effective for substance use disorders and addictions?

Yes! Decades of research in the fields of medicine, psychology, and psychiatry have found hypnotherapy to be effective for many types of habit disorders, as well as for managing associated symptoms such as anxiety, insomnia, depression, and low self-esteem.

How does it work?

Hypnosis is not sleep and it’s not mind control. During the session, you will be gently guided into a state of deep relaxation and inward focus. Then, Dr. Bardi will use specific techniques and therapeutic suggestions tailored to your treatment goals. While in hypnosis, these suggestions are more easily incorporated into the subconscious mind, where they can begin to have a positive impact on your thoughts and behaviors. At the end of the session, you will be gently guided back to a normal state of consciousness, feeling relaxed and having integrated all the positive suggestions deep into your subconscious mind.

Each session is 45–60 minutes and most patients require 3–7 sessions to experience long–lasting benefits.
